There are government departments which strive to serve their constituencies as best as they can, to promote and uplift the status of the previously disadvantaged communities, we need to applaud such positive actions.
The LED Office which is the source of economic development within the Makana Municipality, has ultimately granted approval of Lobengula Foundation envisaged infrastructural development plan of Fingo Village. This is one step closer in recognising that the duty of the municipality should promote private enterprises to participate actively in the socio-economic development of our communities. It is imperative that our government should find solutions that are inclusive of all stakeholders, whenever deliberations are undertaken concerning social and economic development of our society. The Lobengula Foundation has proposed an Upliftment Plan that will bring balance in cultural and tourism industry between the township and the CBD. The impact
of this project in our community will yield positive results for Job-seekers, especially the Youth, and also add value in the Regeneration and Development of our townships. One main aspect of the envisaged plan is to reconstruct Luvuyo Hall into a museum, that would
host an Art Gallery with tour guides. The intent is to promote; capture; and preserve the culture and heritage of the African People, and subsequently commemorating african heroes and heroins who fought in the struggles for the liberation of the African continent.
