Congratulations all South Africans

11 May 2014, 22:00

As a fellow African, I would like to take this momentous opportunity to congratulate all South Africans for conducting peaceful and fair elections which have also been confirmed within the stipulated time frame. This is a first in Africa.

From all the more than 11 million, 4 million, 1 million and the thousands who voted for ANC, DA, EFF and other parties respectively including People’s Alliance with the least number of votes, you are all no fools. You all voted with a vision for a better South Africa which the whole of Africa admires as the beacon of hope to expand growth and development on the entire continent. Even as the youngest democracy, you have sent a message and lesson to your counterparts across the continent which beams everything about your achievements all the way to Egypt,

There is no time to celebrate or moan to both the victors and losers respectively. It is now time to start working on what you promised the most important electorate as the five year clock has just started ticking. Time is always money and peoples’ lives are in the decisions you will undertake.

Finally, quoting the bible verse, Luke 14 verse 11 "For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.", I say to all the politicians, remember you are servants of the people who elected you into office. As long as you humble yourselves and fulfill all the promises you assured the voters, you will be exalted once again come elections 2019.

God bless you all as you continue to work together in making South Africa a thriving democracy and economy that will spread across the continent.
