Manufacturer and Retailer vs. Manufacturers and Decanting Retailers
I would like to know whether other people have also noticed the following –
Why are the ‘retailers’ intruding with their supermarket brands on the ‘manufacturers’ territory? I feel slighted, because the ‘Supermarket” brand is by far (and that is in my opinion) not as good as the specialized brands’ product. The price is not the issue because the supermarket brand is often more expensive than the other brand the supermarket stocks. To crown it all the specialized brands are disappearing one by one and my freedom to choose is taken away.
Retailers (Supermarkets) stock and sell various brands of products conveniently in one space and the customers have freedom of choice.
Manufacturers: source, develop and have pride in their product.
This phenomenon of the decanting retailers started with the No Name brands. It was supposed to be cheaper because it did not have all the fancy advertising on. Now the No Name brands have transformed into the “supermarkets’” brand.
I have changed my shopping habits drastically – I am fortunate that I can. But I am thinking of those people who do not have the luxury or time to shop around for better quality and more choice.
Is it not better for people or organizations who stick with their field of expertise?
