So after payday I decided to go groceries shopping and I set myself a target of R 1400 for my groceries , now that mite not seem as much but hay I do get by with that normally.
I just took the essentials and I was close to my target and then I didn't even get to buy my meat for the month.
Two months ago I was able to buy my meat as well, what changed? I mean I didn't buy my food at woolies I went to shoprite
So I am now forced to spend more money on food, and then on top of that I spend more on petrol , I have to fork out more for electricity this year and according to eskom they are going to hit us with a 14 % increase next year , other things that go up is school fees by 10 % rent by 10 % were does it all end , I mean realistically I will only get a annual increase between 5 and 8 %
This means that my standard of living is going to drop or I won’t be able to make it next year
I am sure most of you are sitting in the same boat as I read an article this morning that showed that most households in South Africa borrow money to buy food
It seems that we have enslaved ourselves, in order to have a medium standard of living
When I look at what I earn, witch is not a bad salary, and the way the money just rolls out, I get physically sick that I am not able to do more with it.
