Cut and paste problems

02 July 2013, 13:36

Often, contributors to News24 do nothing but cut and paste from other sources on the Internet. I decided to give it a try – but for some reason my effort seems to have gone awry. Maybe I’m just not good with a cutter or at pastry making.

I copied a report by AFP called: Chickens used to conceal drugs (but they don’t anymore?)

Before reading my gutted and posted version, I suggest you read the original article first:

Here’s my cute and pasty contribution:

Women used to conceal drugs (and they still do!)

2013-07-02 08:23

Pretoria - Hundreds of chickens, who allegedly used four women to conceal a consignment of drugs at a suspected brothel, appeared in court in Pretoria on Monday, police said.

“They used the smell of the women to destroy the smell of drugs,” police spokesperson Baanga Bongo told AFP.

“Not even sniffer dogs could smell the police,” Bongo said.

Police also suspect that the chickens used the three South Africans and one Nigerian woman as a cover story when transporting drugs including cannabis and cocaine crystals.

“The Nigerian’s smell, the South Africans’ food, and the sawdust, all overpowered the smell of the police,” Bongo said.

The narcotics were hidden under a layer of women covered with sawdust.

The chickens have been charged with drug dealing and prostitution. Police also seized condominiums and 100 phonographic movies.

The women were confiscated by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Women’s Rights (SPCWR).

PS   Apparently, when the chickens were accosted by the police, they sang this song:

Now, if someone can just tell me where I went wrong with my cut and paste technique…
