One sure thing all humans have in common would be that we love to talk, we all have our own opinion and freedom of speech gives us the right to raise our voices, it gives you the opportunity to stand up for what you believe in. That however does no mean that we don’t have the obligation to make sure that we know what we are talking about when we post comments on News24.
I see these comments as the voice of a nation, even though it is only a small percentage; it is still an opinion from the public.
I have learned plenty from other people’s comments and this tells me that my comments are read by people that might learn from my own.
What I see regularly is racist remarks from DA supporters? This upsets me every time I read one, because the DA does not promote racism, the Democratic Alliance (DA) is fighting for a nation united, equal as one. (No more hate talk and that means that racism has no place in our future)
This makes me wonder how many people take the time to read up about the DA and look at their vision for this country. Many people don’t vote for the DA because they don’t want to vote for a “white person”, many people do because it is a white person. While in actual fact that is not what it is about at all?
The ANC currently use the fact that Hellen Zille is white to gain votes, scaring their voters by saying things like “She is going to bring back apartheid” We all know that this is not true or even possible and that it is a lame attempt at winning elections. I therefore simply do not understand that DA supporters do the same. What do I mean by “doing the same”
By promoting racism this is exactly what you are saying to ANC supporters and are therefore promoting the ANC and not the DA.
If every one of us can let go of the past and work together towards a bright future as a nation united, equal. If we can make the decision not to promote or acknowledge racist remarks and hearts, we will be one nation, a nation that achieved the unimaginable miracle that we all desire.
It starts with YOU, it leis in your heart, it is a decision that YOU need to make.
A six letter word has this country on it’s knees, are you going to extend your hand to help it up or are you going to push it down a little further?
If you are racist, regardless of your race or who you vote for, you do not have the right to complain about problems this country face every day, if you still linger on what went on in SA 400 years ago or think that apartheid, that ended 18 years ago still make you superior, YOU are the problem.
I urge all DA supporters to please share the DA’s vision with other people and that you yourself take this vision to heart. We have an obligation to those who do not have a voice, those uneducated and mislead by a government’s selfish hatred that will never give their people a future that we as DA supporters wish them all to have.
The only cure for hate is love, lets not repeat our past mistakes that brought us here, let us rather build a better future for all. We all have the human right to a bright future, those who don’t respect that, have no respect for themselves.
YOU can make a difference, by changing your heart and that starts with YOUR mindset.
It is not about skin colour any longer it is about human integrity.
