I was flicking through DStv's new line up and location of channels. I was certainly excited when it was announced that more sport channels will be in HD.
What a rude awakening hit me. SOCCER dominates most of the channels – Three HD channels and three SD sport channels covering soccer ON ONE evening THUS: Of the 11 sport channels (excluding channel 200 BLITZ – sport summary, which can also be covering soccer matches) 6, yes, six channels were broadcasting soccer. I mean this is totally rediculous.
What has happened to motorsport coverage ie National Rallies. I have not seen a National Rally covered by DSTV the past year. I have not seen one single SA Off Road Championship covered live, to name a few.
Why are so few other sports items covered. Not only those the able bodies compete in but also the non so able bodies.
I suggest that DSTV change their bouquet choices when it comes to sport. Allocate the available sport channels to certain sport groups and let people decide for themself what sport they want to watch. SIX channels broadcasting soccer on one evening. Wow! I was in fact so disgusted that I contemplated cancelling my subscription after 30 years.
