On 21 January, in response to FNB's You Can Help advertising campaign, you, the intolerant thugs in the ANC, and the intellectually deficient firebrands in the ANC Youth League, called FNB, amongst other less savoury epithets, traitorous and treasonous.
A day later, FNB has pulled its advertising campaign, NOT because it recognised the treason alleged by yourselves, but because threats have been made against the participants.
How very African of you. When subjected to criticism, instead of taking it on the chin, you cry foul. You brand the messengers. I'm surprised you haven't called FNB a bunch of neo-colonialist, Helen-loving racists.
And when that doesn't work, you use blackmail. You threaten the innocent, artists involved, with physical harm. Again, how very African of you.
The list of ills under ANC rule is long and ignominious. Limpopo text books, Nkandla, service delivery protests, bankrupt SAA, inept Eskom, junked credit ratings from international ratings agencies, Marikana, collapsed health services, a toothless prosecutions service and improperly appointed NDPP, the abortion known as the SABC. Need I go on?
Let's be honest, this is not the first time you have come under fire. And as sure as night follows day, you, the ANC, will not actually heed the message, roll up your sleeves and get down to work fixing things, you will resort to another round of shouting and finger pointing and name calling.
There are a few places in the country where things work. The Western Cape, Cape Town in particular, and Midvaal in the Gauteng. They make national government, other provinces, and the average ANC-led municipality look like the basket cases they are.
Now, instead of trying to emulate the successes in those areas, the ANC, being so good at lowest common denominator politics, seeks to reduce everyone to the same low standard. Not through legitimate means, but by fiddling with provincial boundaries and electoral rules.
You disgust me. I cannot believe that this is the same party that I once supported, even voted for.
