Dear Zuma

04 December 2013, 12:27

Let me firstly start of thanking you for your services over the past few years, I realise the presidency is not easy. You left such an impact that at this point in time feels like you have been president for an eternity. I’m sure that like most politicians you truly started out with the sole purpose of working for the people of this great nation and not for the self-enrichment of your family and cadres. Then again what is a job without perks?

Nelson Mandela is not an easy act to follow and Thabo Mbeki actually left room for some improvement. You can normally predict a president rain by the way he took office and in your case it was slightly controversial and let’s face the controversy has not subsided. I imagine that if you had to continue with your aspirations for another term controversy will probably just continue on its downward spiraling trend.

What I would like to ask you today is to spare the millions of South Africans another embarrassing ousting of a president and a hostile takeover from yet another  faction in government which would lead to a whole new cycle of corrupt and inept ministers that will just drag our beautiful nation to its knees.

Please do not perceive this as criticism, realize that people have been beaten up and arrested for expressing their dislike. I actually like you and who wouldn’t with your uplifting dance steps and a voice like a sparrow I will be the first to vote for you on SA got talent.

The time to step down has come, and reflecting on your many achievements as a president I believe you can retire with real ease and luxury at Nkandla palace. I bet if you bow out now most South Africans will feel more at ease footing the bill.

  • Which other president could save our printed media in a time when the rest of the world was forced to advance online.  You made sure that either you or one of your many intriguing ministers made the front page. And when that was not enough you helped launch yet another printed newspaper. Always rewarding to know that our hard earned tax money was used to bring us into the New Age.

  • You inspired me with your nonracial outlook, not only the enrichment of certain black comrades but you even unselfishly held out a helping hand to members in the Indian community.

  • You came a long way from the shower AIDS prevention technique to the new and improved circumcision prevention. Imagine now you have, ever so slighter risk of contracting aids but unlike condoms you can still impregnate. You helped us build a nation literally and figuratively. If this trend continues you might just become the next father of our nation.

  • You are a democratic visionary. When nobody else believed in Julius Malema you were the one to see his potential. You told us he would become the next president and I’m starting to believe you. If you serve another term Malema would probably stand a chance. Your idea to give the poor, uneducated and down trodden another political party to vote for was ingenious. True democracy at its best.

The list goes on but seeing that your life is published more that the British royal family I guess there is no sense in elaborating.

In conclusion I believe you have achieved what you have set out to do, serving another term would

just be a formality.

My wish for all South Africans is that our next president should have certain qualities, in fact have we not suffered enough, we deserve a great president.

  • Educated to the highest level.

  • Contain a moral compass.

  • Vision to choose ministers based on experience and expertise.

  • Ability to bring the nation together with anti-racial policies and upliftment of the poor.

  • Capability to read full sentences in one go.

If you feel you can live up to these basic requirement please feel free to serve another term.

I wish you the best with your cattle ranching and tuck shop endeavors.
