Dear human

11 February 2014, 07:40
As I write this I'm looking an amazing natural beauty sitting across me in a train and all I can and should do is admire and appreciate her beauty from this one and a half meter distance and nothing more. How I better do you thing this world would be if all man and woman would follow such?

After eight years of being involved with hiv and aids related organisations like TAC and being a peer educator at varsity. Last night we had a mind refreshing discussion about hiv and aids. I learned from an angle I never considered, that is some "born frees" has chances of having the virus even if they have not been with man(virgins) this is so because they might have been born with it, during this period(the 90's) our country and the world was still in shock of this virus. So to say the mother to child prevention had not been notoriously known.

We've made an outstanding progress as a country in terms of research and in pursuit to find a cure. A number of breakthroughs have come to light but it's still incurable. It is safe to say prevention is better than cure, fingering and oral sex are as dangerous as not using a condom. There are a number of angry people out there spreading the virus, don't be a victim because of ignorance there could be less coverage of it on the media, that doesn't mean it's less out there or its there no more.

People should take time to go and test, learn about the correct usage of condoms, safe and safer sex. A one or five minutes pleasure can cause you misery for the remaining days of your life. Society should not judge people living with Hiv, they are as humans as anyone else. At this stage it's safe to say those who judge are the ones who don't test or has never tested before meaning they know not their status. People living with the infection should freely disclose their status without any fear of being mistreated. Discrimination is a crime and an act against God's image. Sharing a hug, kiss, food, plates or cups and sleeping purely in the same bed with an infected person will not infect you. Hiv and Aids is still among us, yes we can effectively detect and blow it away at certain instances but we still need people to be responsible with their lives.

As much as I would love to discuss it's origin because it's a relevant topic and there so many theories with regard, that would not solve the current mass we in. I'd have liked to quote other authors but I decided to be general and realistic.

I sincerely apologize if this writing had offended anyone or even discriminated anyone I purely wanted to caution the people as philosopher, lover of life and as a man of God.

In future we will discuss the origin, ARV's, sex education, STI's, alcohol and drugs as they heavily relate to this topic. It's a lovely world out there and a bitter one as well choose wisely. By Athenkosi Bucwa (S.P.I.T)
