Denial is not in Egypt

03 April 2014, 20:45

My dear South Africans. It has taken me a long time since I last penned down an article on my news24’s favourite column.

But I couldn’t wait and fold my arms seeing the  people (especially) the politically connected misleading both the people of this country and its president. President Zuma cannot be in every corner of this country all the time, but he has the responsibility to make sure that the country runs accordingly.

He knows that he has to be accountable for any public funds wrongly benefiting
certain individuals. That is in the constitution that guides us all including the president himself. Too many articles have been written and debates taken place since this Nkandla Saga first surfaced. People have denied and tried to cover up something that even a ten year old can see.

You can’t tell us that you and your family built that house with your own money. Then when the public protector releases her findings then you change your original statement. If you’re a president that means the majority of the people had a trust in you, that’s why they put you on that chair.

So if you behave like a moron or a tsotsi don’t expect the people to trust you anymore. Yes ANC might or should I say will win the 2014 general elections but will not enjoy the majority in parliament, that I can foresee.

First of all, there’re ANC members who went with Cope, some are going to vote for the opposition and some like me will just stay home and hold their votes because we love ANC but just disappointed by the current leadership’s failure to lead and be accountable. DENIAL IS NOT A RIVER IN EGYPT.

We could’ve had a very healthy democratic elections this year (2014) only if we had a good and healthy opposition. The problem is, our official opposition

has followers who say things that make you think otherwise about all the good promises its leadership make. I know people will say I should give my vote

to other small parties, but my problem is, the official opposition paints another picture through its followers and the other small parties are either formed

out of anger or just opportunists. So, NO, thank you, I won’t waste my vote. I’m not saying the others that are disgusted like me must follow suites but

I think my choice is the best for me. My beloved political organization won’t get my vote, decreasing the number of its voters and not getting 2/3 majority.

Maybe in the next 2019 general elections things would’ve changed for the better for everyone and not only friends, family and politically connected.

But if you’re a leader that means you’ve got brains, right? You can distinguish between right and wrong. You can change the wrong and make it right.

You analyse every report delivered to you by your ministers. You have a heart for the people and a vision for the country you lead. So if you have all these

qualities and the interest of the country and its people at heart, how can you allow such reckless and wasteful spending to happen right in front of your

nose then deny having any knowledge about it, yet you sleep in that places at least more than once a month, and you see all the progress and work made?

The big question is, did your ministers deliberately led you to this whole saga because they have other ambitions and used your popularity and naivety  to fulfil their

ambitions or you just didn’t care? There is no smoke without fire, and public protectors findings don’t come from nowhere but because something happened that’s why she found it.

You refuse to pay as the public protector asked, yet people did not ask for E-Tolls but they’re expected to pay for it. It works both ways, we pay and you must also pay.

You can carry on denying and misleading the people but I’m out with my vote. But the others can do as they feel with their votes but till 2019. PEACE.

Majority poverty

Being a majority has its advantages and disadvantages, based on various aspects of demographics the citizenry. As far as services are concerned it will always be the minority who will benefit most from government as their numbers can be serviced with the least of money, amenities in their areas will last longer be kept in working order better because of the low demand for it, while on the other hand in the areas of majority it is the excessive usage of services which causes numerous breakdowns and eventually no services. Read more...
