I saw a preacher, sitting with Benny Hinn on a TV program on God TV last night. He claimed that for the first time in his life, He had a received a very special message from God - he was to tell the viewers that God had placed a very special ‘anointing’ and a ‘special grace’ on a gift of $300.
I saw the same Benny Hinn at another church conference some time ago, claiming that there was a miraculous anointing on every gift of $1000, because God was going to multiply that back to the giver a thousandfold! But – the blessing was only for the next 15 minutes! The credit-card machines appeared and Benny Hinn made over $7 million dollars. The fact some of the givers missed the 15-minute deadline did not seem to matter.
The Word of Faith preachers tell you that you can just ‘name it and claim it’. If you see a beautiful car in a showroom, then ‘speak it into being’, because, aren’t we created like little ‘gods’ and do we not have the same creative power as our Creator?
I witnessed in horror the fiasco that was Todd Bentley, being commissioned by the evangelical leaders of the largest churches in America, weeks before he was exposed as a liar, a fraud and a false teacher.
Does it ever occur to Christians, that just maybe there is something ‘iffy’ about the teaching\preaching they are hearing? After all, if Jesus Himself said that it was ‘harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God that for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle’, then why are Christians being told that God WANTS them to be rich ???!
Does it not seem reasonable that if the Church focused on its God-given Commission, to go out into the world and spread the Gospel of the good news of Jesus Christ, that the Church would then grow just a Jesus Christ had intended it to, through the power of the Holy Spirit – and that these people, having gone through the prerequisite regeneration of their spirits would become cheerful givers, providing all that the Church needs?
Is it any wonder then that people choose to become ‘atheists’? I mean, even a child can see that there is something terribly wrong the so-called Church…. Not only do many people who go to Church every Sunday live just like the sinners they condemn from Monday to Saturday, but the leaders are frequently found in newspaper headlines, stealing money, raping congregants and getting involved in less than Christian behaviour?
Let me tell you this: if I was ‘in the world’ today, and I saw exactly what the world sees of Christianity, I would be right there saying: “Hell NO! I want nothing to do with that!!!”
And can you blame them?
What will it take for the TRUE Church of Jesus Christ to stand up and be heard?
And before any Christians climb up onto that high horse labelled ‘THOU SHALL NOT JUDGE” let me tell you something – God says that judgment BEGINS in the House of the Lord – He INSISTS that unrighteousness be EXPOSED in the church – He teaches that one Christian can SAVE another Christian from DEATH by coming alongside that person and showing him\her a sin which grieves the Spirit of God.
No – we are not allowed to judge those in the world, who do not know any better. (Romans 2)
But we MUST not be silent regarding the sins that are taking over the Church.
Jesus Christ was not popular, because He told it like it was.
And WHO was most offended by His teaching? The Pharisees and religious leaders. And where are these Pharisees and religious leaders today? Just where they’ve always been – IN THE CHURCH!
Now let me clarify my position. I know that I am a sinner. Saved by grace. I also know that there is nothing that I can do or say, and no motive of my heart which is hidden from God. I know without a doubt that if it were not for the intervention of Jesus Christ in my life, I would still be addicted to drugs, alcohol, pills, pornography and every pleasure that the world has to offer.
After 38 years of being a child of God (first a babe, then a back-slider, then a seeker, wanting to know if what I had experienced as a 16-year old was REAL, and after 17 years of reading and searching and studying, finally GETTING IT !) I have come to the following conclusions:
a) I know for sure that no church will ever get a person into the presence of God.
b) I know for sure that when I chose to believe the Bible and to read it with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that it became ALIVE and POWERFUL and able to change the very character of the reader.
c) I know for sure that it is not possible to read one verse of Scripture (per week) or hear several verses of Scripture (to justify a sermon topic) and through this to fully come to a mature understanding the Character of God. Only when I read the entire Bible, with commentaries and study-aids, and learned of some of the customs of the Jews, was I able to come to the place where I was able to accept that God Is, Was and always will Be; that Jesus IS the only sure way to God (His and our Father); that it is impossible to live (continuously and successfully) as a child of God or to understand His Word without going through Spiritual renewal;
d) I know for sure that I am seeing His Word, particularly His prophecies, being fulfilled before my very eyes and that, just as every single prophecy before now has been fulfilled to the letter, those which are outstanding will be fulfilled in exactly the same way (this should galvanize the Church into action!) . This includes the apostasy, the increase of knowledge, men becoming haters of God and lovers of themselves, the ripening of the ‘fig tree’ (Israel) and I believe that we are the generation which will see the harvest (1948 plus 70 = 2018)
Jesus Christ wondered of He would even find faith when He returns to the earth… I choose to be one of those in whom faith will be found.
BTW: The usual trolls need not respond to this, because I assuredly will not respond to them. This message is for believers only – I challenge you all to
