People who don't rook(smoke),are physically active, drink alcohol in moderation, eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day apparently live 14-18 years longer on average, than those who don't have these attributes. Does abstaining from sexual intercourse fall in that category too? If it does do you believe that not *^%$£** at all is related to longevity?
Scientist all agree that there is no magic pill for longevity, but that those older in years that were in extraordinarily healthy shape was due to their lifestyle and human genetics. We have older ones that have become lean and fit, their arteries are cleaner and have remarkable low rates of cancer, dementia and heart disease.
Sex gets replace by such things as gardening, daily walks, traditional dancing etc. Being positive, optimistic, strong social integration and being adaptable in life was also a major contributor to longevity.
Stanford University and the U.S. Veterans Affairs Health Care System did a 13year study and found that low-intensity exercises -such as brisk walking-was helpful in staying fit, protects against health conditions, improves your mood, contributes to a better night’s sleep and living longer.
Jeanne Louise Calment, once the world’s oldest person according to the Guinness Book of World Records, and who died on August 4, 1997, at the age of 122,said her secret to longevity was "plenty of laughter, activity(no mention of abstaining from sex by the way), and having a stomach like an ostrich’s."
Different strokes for different folks I guess. Advancements in medical science, health care, and other fields of endeavour are helping people to live much longer today than it did before. With all that ,still not many of us reach or surpass the century mark.
This might feel funny but most of us feel a lot healthier after having sex,so why should we stop having it? Times of India calls having sex "a healthy habit" and with good reason as it burns more calories, relieves stress and makes you sleep better.
So why fix something that ain't broken? Women that stop having sex risk getting nuns disease, not the breast cancer one,but vaginal cancer. Because of not giving birth there was rumoured to be a 60% chance for women picking up that nuns disease.
