I want to say thanks for a change.
I drove to work today and I had a cheeky taxidriver drive right on my tail. At first I was annoyed and then I decided to try a new approach.
Systematically drove slower, to make up for the drivers lack of safe following distance and gradually the stress of him being so close evaporated. Is i'm lucky enough to drive right on the coastline, I could still enjoy my beautiful sun on waves sunrise.
Not only did my mindset adjustment mend that portion of my day... It followed me to work. When I got to work a random member of the public had left a message of thanks for work I helped do last week or so. I thought to myself... wow. Appreciation... Not a common quality among men and women these days. Lots of protest, lots of negativity.
Still, it felt great. Someone appreciating ones work sure makes it more worthwhile doing, and I ended up being more vibrant and more in the mood for working today.
It then gradually occured to me that I didn't appreciate much. I'm mostly off in a cloud of thought trying to fix the things that arent working, moving from one problem to the next.
I never stop and appreciate my own work. Not only that I never really appreciate the work others are doing.
But we all do something right, and if we could list all our positives, and share it with others, we'd feel better about ourselfs, and others would feel better about us and vice versa.
We'd make a positive inpression in a world so in need of it?
Who else has something positive to attribute[be positive only please, if there is nothing... tell a joke, quickly do something positive and get back to this page.]?
What a stunning thing this mouse thingy on my table is... someone saw the pain of text interface and made it all easy and intuitive. Every click saves me a lot of time. Thank you mouse engineers everywhere... You made my life better!
