Dude.. it's not your skin color!

09 July 2012, 11:09
It's been 18 years since the shackles came off the black peeps and most of the country (black and white) are still running around whining like a bunch of witless slaves...

Why?

Here's an excerpt from a little parable from the Bible: (Calm down Afans, it's not THAT kind of Article).

"For the one who has will be given more, and he will have more than enough. But the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken from him."

That particular parable is one about a group of slaves given an opportunity to improve their station in life.

Back then, a slave was ranked lower than an animal. You had no rights because you were barely considered human. You were a possession and nothing more.

18 years after the end of apartheid, opportunity has rained down from the skies like cupcakes at a kindergarten! Blacks and whites alike have had ample opportunity to change their station. Still many stay stuck in the mud, cynical, looking for someone to blame, clinging to the past fanatically, still thinking like slaves... BEE and AA, in the eyes of many, become imaginary shackles on the economic evolution of the white man.

So anyway, this parable is about the one law that can can wrest you from the jaws of poverty, regardless of race, economy or culture. It is called 'The Law of Stewardship'.

If you can't look after the stuff you have now, you will lose it and your losing streak will not end until your outlook does.
Your poverty has absolutely nothing to do with your skin color. It has everything to do with what you do with the smallest opportunities that come your way.

Directly attached to the law of stewardship is the law of attraction - That which you respect will come towards you but that which you disrespect will move away from you. If you are unable to respect your opportunities enough to take full advantage of them, they will simply fade away. Grab the opportunity diligently with both hands and inevitably bigger opportunities will come your way.

Public education is failing - Opportunity: Private education - on part with the best in the world.

Crime is on the rise - Opportunity: Security companies, Security estates etc.

Are you the one complaining about the crap education and high crime or are you the one driving an Aston Martin because you saw an opportunity where everyone else saw a chance to moan some more?

Opportunity strikes often for every human, but every human is not ready when it strikes.

A failing government with a constitution like ours is the entrepreneurs dream! When I walk around, all I see are customers waiting to throw their money at me. Money is a reward for solving problems and boy does our little country have problems!
Unfortunately, opportunity is not limited to 'good people' and taking advantage of opportunity is not limited to 'righteous action'. It is a law without personality or belief system. Kinda like gravity. Take advantage of it and you get promoted, ignore it and it could kill you.

Sometimes you will get away with the dodgy stuff but most times it will catch up with you and bite you in the ass, still, it's your call.

I think there is more than enough opportunity in SA to not need the dodgy stuff... heck man, the amount of dodgy stuff happening is in itself an opportunity for those who are passionate about specialized investigative journalism!
So... here's my point.

Poverty has very little to do with your color. You SO are not struggling because you are black or white or whatever, you are struggling because you are blind to opportunity and/or lack the drive to do something about it when it shows itself!
SA has more opportunities available than it has competent people to fill them. Funnily enough, if you take all the wealth in South Africa and divide it equally between all the people, the law of stewardship will simply put it back in the hands of the competent.

Your ignorance and lack of drive are the true culprits and no amount of moaning, bitching and whining about injustice will improve your station.

You can dream about a better life you want and have all the 'faith' you like. Nothing will change until you change. Incidentally, the word 'faith' comes from the word 'Emunah', it means 'Firm Action' which is why "Faith without works is dead".
He who sitteth on his asseth and moaneth will getteth nothingeth!

Too long; Didn't read?South Africa could fall apart at it's seams, civil war could break out, millions could starve and there would STILL be those who found a way to live in luxury. The difference between those individuals and those who are governed by circumstance is their ability to see an opportunity, grab it with both hands and actually do something about it.
When it said: 'Whites only', Blacks still figured out ways to prosper and if it turns out to say: 'Blacks only', whites will do the same. It's only the moaners who go nowhere because they wouldn't see an opportunity if it hit them in the face. You simply cannot see opportunities in your future when your focus is on the past.Simple maths bro.
