According to Census 2011, the average white Saffa earns 6 times more than the average black Saffa! Alert the equality police!
But wait...
The average earnings for white South Africans is based on a population group 7 to 8 times smaller than those of the average black South African...
Another salient question should be whether the 55% of the population who are getting social grants are included as 'earners.' Since that's nearly 28 million people, I'd say that's enough to skew the stats a teeny bit.
The fact is that if the average black South African IS earning a sixth of what the average white South African is, and you adjust that figure according to the number of people in each group, then black South Africans who work are, on average, doing BETTER than their white counterparts.
Viva! and all that. AA has done it's job. We have reached and exceeded equality. Can we move on now?
