Edukashun for all!

13 April 2013, 08:57

EduKashun for all!

I am going to throw this out there, in the hope that those with the knowledge, ability and charitable hearts will pick it up... cast my bread upon the waters so to speak, in the hope that sooner rather than later, it will return ten fold.

So here goes... ready? About to throw the ball!

A free, yes you read that correctly, FREE online school accessible via cell phone with a community social centre. Every second kid I know is online with their cell phone on Facebook and other media.

From grade one to grade twelve, the curriculum can be placed on line which will go a long way to solving the text book problem to say nothing about the waste of paper. Extra articles can be added by those who specialise in certain subjects, and information gathering from around the world added on a regular basis will add to the pool of knowledge that can be made readily available. With a pass rate of 35% and very low statistics for maths and science such a school would be a boon for our overall Edukashun!

The social centre along the lines of other social media, will be a place for students to make friends, have fun, compare notes, assist each other and discuss the news of the day. This will also go a long way for South African students across the country to network and get to know each other.

And no Bloemfontein, it will not cost 48 million! We have free web sites all over the net, and some caring host could contribute for free, as well as all those computer geeks out there who could assist in designing it.

So... how about it people? Any takers? I would be willing to act as co-coordinator.

Casting, casting my bread upon the waters...
