Dear Sizwe,
Err pardon but FNB's lack of backbone showed up twice in this month. The first time when it declared its intention to close down the bank account of Al Aqsa Foundation, an NGO dedicated to provide internationally sanctioned support by way of food, shelter and medicine for the people of occupied Palestine. The second time was when it capitulated to the ANC that raised angst about the advertorial which framed concerning issues through the mouths of youths, our future leaders!
This is hypocracy and unacceptable to us,"we the people of South Africa" that the preamble to the Constitution of SA proclaims who we are!
When bullies set the agenda, the entire constitutional edifice crumbles and, this is how I see the unsavouring indaba that now defines the FNB.
I will venture to say that the FNB capitulated to the ANC following President Zuma's cryptic message the other day that companies or entities that support the ANC will prosper,or something along those lines but I was not paying attention then. Now I know what he meant and your FNB genuflected in obeisance!
Shame on you and your bank. We the people will remember this betrayal of our constitutional rights to freedom of expression........
