“I find your lack of faith disturbing,” Darth Vader said to the imperial officer aboard the death star. Even with a 7-foot tall Sith cyborg saying it in a James Earl Jones voice, it still sounds like the utterance of a mentally weak and pitiful fool. However, he does something most modern christians excel at: He tries to make a point by choking the unbeliever into submission. Let us not forget the ogrish history of the believers: they used to skin, torture, burn, vivisect people alive to make their point.
Of course, by the time the unbelieving peasant finally understood god’s love, mercy, and grace—as was so vividly demonstrated by those who headed these persecutions—the poor sod had already been evacuated from the mortal world. Perhaps they could serve as an example to those that could still be converted—but more examples always had to be made to keep the faith growing. That is how desperate religion was and remains to this day.
For the Jesus sheep that are still reading this far into my article… prepare to watch your innards become part of the scenery. I might have given this topic a bit of a break, but this atheist has sufficient energy and strength left after his hibernation to still tear the lambs of god to shreds.
Even with this vicious, sadistic, and brutally unfair advantage, religion STILL ended up losing its grip on the intellect of Homo Sapiens. It was beaten not with violence but by the application of the human intellect and the honest search for explanations that were based on reality—not fantasy and superstition.
We have finally had enough of god’s love and mercy, and he can take his spiritual insurance policy and go sell it to the stunted intellects of desert dwelling middle-easterners (incidentally the same backward people from which religion sprouted thousands of years ago).
I want to impart something to the general atheist community here. You must understand that in the end the religiously insane win the fight, and you can do nothing to stop it.
While there will be no god or angels or cosmic jew to welcome them everlastingly into heaven, they will never truly live to comprehend that and see they were wrong. As the oxygen runs low in their brains and their vision blurs (creating the tunnel of light effect), they will feel peaceful (extreme dopamine release occurs near death). As the brain starts dissolving itself to stay alive, and they start having vivid hallucinations of seeing their family and friends on the other side (by the way, ask an NDE survivor how many times they saw their still living relative wait on the other side, as well) they will truly think that heaven awaits them.)
Then it will just go dark. And they will know and think as much as they did before they ever existed. They won’t ever live to hear an atheist say “we told you so.”
It is for this reason that religion must be driven from society in all its forms. Like suicide bombers (another religious phenomenon), true believers have nothing to lose because even if their beliefs are errant, they won’t ever be held accountable. And they know this to be so. They even say it from time to time. “Even if we are wrong, we just lived a life filled with hope and anticipation, and if we die and there is nothing on the other side, we won’t even know it.”
We know the religious flock hopes for death and destruction to reign down on earth so they may be raptured and the rest cast into hell. How can we trust people with such suicidal and segregationist opinions to take positions of power and influence in society? There is no brotherly love in religion. There can also be no peace until the ‘final day’ because the religiously insane thrive on the idea of being winners while the rest are losers.
The christian belief is one obsessed with bloodletting. From the old to the new testament, the predominant theme is the spilling of blood. And it is done ALWAYS to appease an angry god. Being perfect seems to have the side effect of leaving the being with an eternally flawed personality.
This is the ‘thing’ that the religious worship: a bloodthirsty tyrant which rules unchallenged and for whom concessions are made when he descends into evil and violent fits—he’s god after all, and none of the sheep will ever question his sanity.
The only way to defeat religion is in the here and now where it has power to change our lives and future.
Here’s to living in a world that, with each passing decade, is seeing less and less religion represented in society at large. Oh what a wondrous time it is to be an atheist.
