Deuteronomy 18:20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the LORD has not spoken?’ 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. (Deut. 18:20-22)
God seems to be a little angry about false prophets, There is a lot of scripture decrying false prophets through out the Bible. Dueteronomy is actually specific about what a false prophet is. If a prophet makes a prophecy that does not come to pass, he is a charlatan and should be put to death. No ifs and buts here at all. God said that him very self.
Now let us look at the prophecies made by Jesus. He predicted that he would return in the very generation of the people he was talking to.
Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
I have read much about the meaning of the original Greek text and that generation could mean the Jewish Race etc, so we will do a little more Bible study to decipher the real meaning behind the words of Christ. I can get that he was talking about the Jewish race, because those that don't get the real meaning behind words and want to twist them to mean something else, you know like the revolutionaries and words like democracy. This generation as the so called scholars want to make it mean rather than the people that are now alive.
In Matthew 10:23 Christ said "When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next, for truly, I say to you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes."
Does this not mean that they will not have gone through every town before the coming of Jesus. Can this be considered not to have happened yet, Surely the word of Christ is known in all the land of the earth, The Kingdoms, The Republics and the Countries. You still not convinced that Jesus was a pretty poor prophet that deserved to die? Some lost tribe in the Amazon still has not heard? I'll give you that even though Jesus was talking about the then known world which ended just over the horizon.
So let's move on to Matthew 16:27 "For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. 28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."
Verily I say unto thee, Jesus truly told these people he was speaking to that some of them would not be returned to the earth in a box or a blanket before his return. Unless we have anyone on earth that is 2000 some years old he was telling pork pies. His prophecy has not come to pass, thus a lying troll he must be, that deserved the title of false prophet, No wonder God had him killed at Golgotha like a common thief.
