2 tonnes of equipment was handed over to the Rangers of the Kruger Park , yesterday 3rd November.
What an honour it was to experience the handover of the R1.7 million of equipment to the Section Rangers of the Kruger National Park.
The mountains of equipment was carefully catalogued and each section's equipment was stacked separately so that they were able to check it all out before taking delivery. To see the array of kit needed by the rangers to enable them to spend time in the bush while fighting the poachers was amazing. Such basic necessities, but viewed on such an enormous scale was an incredible experience. It felt like a military operation unfolding, which it probably is more akin to than we like to think.
The delight on the faces of the Section and field Rangers was awe inspiring and one got the feeling that this equipment would have an impact on the war against poaching immediately.
