If it's not the e-tolling financial molestation scheme it's the plague of the paid kerbside parking spreading rapidly in several municipalities, to the point where it becomes a serious financial epidemic, that civil society fail to quarantine through public disobedience or any form of mass action. Has our constitution made provision for financial rape? Well at this stage it looks like it. Electricity tariffs have sky rocketed, the mammoth petrol price keeps escalating and now the price of parking is also defying gravity. To some fathomable extent, I guess Isaac Newton was wrong about his calculus on the law of gravitation; taxes are immune to gravity; for them what goes up...must go up again.
But who is to blame for the surge in financial rape? Let me not beat around the bush; all fingers point to the ANC. Come 2014, fellow tax paying citizens, please let’s point the middle finger instead; by standing up against the years of financial rape. The introduction of the paid kerbside parking is truly going to be a burden on several businesses, customers will avoid shopping or eating in those areas in fear of having to pay ridiculous amounts of money just for parking. Bare in mind these are outside parking and it’s not as if we getting a heart transplant with the payment, so why should the price of parking be so high. Previously the DA fought against the implementation of such paid parking in Parkhurst in Johannesburg. They successfully won the dispute. If we as civil society stand up against this rape, taxation system just like we did with the E-tolling system, perhaps the implementation process of the paid parking can come to a temporarily halt and inevitably be eradicated completely. I’m asking all citizens to exercise their democratic rights sensibly this time around, change is drastically needed, alternatively get yourself good, quality Vaseline and brace yourself for financial sodomy.
