Do I care about the hundreds of millions spent on Showerhead’s compound in Nkandla? Do I care about the trial of the “Modimolle Monster” and the three co-accused monsters who raped his former wife?
Do I care about the demolition of illegally-built houses in Lenasia? Do I care about Cosatu’s call to mass action, or their three-phase plan to protest against e-tolling? Do I care about the plight of the rhino?
Do I give a rat’s ass about the barbarians and incompetent cops – killing one another at the Battle of Marikana? Do I care about racists, xenophobes, homophobes, xylophones, harpaxophobes, Zumaphobes, or any other politically incorrect phobe?
Am I concerned about the unsolved murder of Cock Robin?
NO! Not in the least! Not anymore! (Well, maybe I do care a little about the passing away of dear old Cock Robin.)
While the news media are having a field day reporting on the moral disintegration of the people of this country – as well as the complete collapse of its infrastructure – I’m going to sit back and ignore the show.
I’ve decided to pay no further attention to the doom and gloom of our “young democracy.” Like “Sewende Laan” – which I’ve never watched.
Fretting and fuming over the lack of integrity and morality of my fellow citizens – and the stupidity of the (suffering) fools who keep voting the communist ANC-party to power – is just a waste of time.
I’ve decided that I shall no longer get excited about the farm murders, the violence against women and children, the price of petrol, the inflation rate, the education system, potholes, bullying at schools – or the thousands of incompetent, corrupt cops – or the criminals in parliament.
Why have I opted for the ostrich, head-in-the-sand, strategy? Well, for number reasons:
As long as the mindless masses of this country prefer to riot, burn, and kill – rather than vote for a change of government – the collapse of this country is assured.
As long as corrupt politicians steal taxpayers’ money – and are allowed to get away with it – they will continue to do so.
As long as crime keeps spiraling out of control – investment in this country will dwindle.
As long as students receive an inferior education, unemployment will remain a huge problem.
As long as the Chinaman has a problem getting it up, rhino’s will be slaughtered.
Someone once said: “You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.”
And that is the problem; right there. There are just too many deaf pigs in this country. The silk purse production has ground to a halt.
As for me: I shall only concern myself with the well-being of those near and dear to me. The rest can go to Hades.
I shall no longer fart against thunder. Or in pigs’ ears.
