Foreigners should play by the rules

26 November 2012, 13:26

I was driving this morning down high level road in Cape Town on my way to work this morning when the driver in front of me flicked his cigarette out the window. Being a proud Cape Townian and knowing the devastating effects of fires on the mountain I pulled up next to them.

The passenger window was down and the wife was still smoking her cigarette. I said you not allowed to through your cigarettes out the window. The wife answered in a British accent and told me to F#ck off. I said I dont know where you come from but we dont do that here. So she replied and said" Oh but you let people starve on the streets". Worked up I told them I would report them and they started laughing. I wound my window up and in a moment of weakness zapped them.

Next thing the women took her cigarette she was still smoking and flicked it onto my bonnett. That it a true insult and they proved they dont belong in this country if they cant respect it.

I was dropping my sister at the Christian Barnard ( this happened to be their exact location too) and I stopped a police car and asked them if we are allowed to though our stompies out the window.

The two police men looked at one another, the one replied and see " I dont know but I dont see anything wrong with it"

So the next time the mountain is burning or our streets are littered with stompies blame the police and government for being unable to enforce their own rules.
