Fulfiiled prophecies from the Old Testament proving Jesus Christ is the promised Messiah.

11 March 2014, 12:34

I often read comments from the 'N24 atheist junior science club' commenting on N24 that Jesus Christ didn't fulfill any Messianic prophecies...some even deny that He existed!

So I felt compelled to set the record straight once and for all about Jesus being the promised Messiah  of the Old Testament.

From the tribe of Judah. (Gen 49:10/Luke 3:33)

Born in Bethlehem. (Micah 5:2/Luke 2:4)

Time for His birth. (Dan 9:25/Luke 2:1,2)

To be born of a virgin. (Is 7:14/Luke 1:26,27,30,31)

Flight to Egypt. (Hos 11:1/Matt 2:14,15)

 Galilean ministry. (Is 9:1,2/Matt 4:13-16)

Rejected by His own people, the Jews. (Is 53:3/John 1:11, Luke 23:18)

 Betrayed by a friend. (Ps 41:9/Luke 22:47,48)

Sold for 30 pieces of silver. (Zech 11:12/Matt 26:15)

Spat upon and smitten. (Is 50:6/Matt 26:67)

Crucified with malefactors. (Is 53:12/Mark 15:27)

Pierced through hands and feet. (Zech 12:10/John 20:27)

Given vinegar and gall on the cross (Ps 69:21/Matt 27:34)

Soldiers gambled for His coat. (Ps 22:17,18/Matt 27:35,36)

No bones broken. (Ps 34:20/John 19:32,33,36)

His side pierced. (Zech 12:10/John 19:34)

Buried with the rich. (Is 53:9/Matt 27:57-60)

Why I love Cambodia’s capital

There are so many reasons to hate Cambodia’s bite sized capital of Phnom Penh. Open sewers, naked children, piles of burning garbage on every street. Its a dirty, smelly, noisy amalgam. But Phnom Penh grows on you and by the time you leave it will occupy a special place in your heart. Read more...
