God does not enact evil, he decrees it.

17 June 2014, 14:08
This article is in response to the God of the Bible article by Nom de Plume. Nom de Plume made the assertion that God does not enact any evil, however he decrees it. A decree is statement of law. If I make a decree in my household, (despite the fact that no one has paid any attention to my decrees in years) it is basically me laying down the law. If I were to decree that my wife may not go out on girls nights out, I would be making a total tit of myself, but I would be laying down an ultimatum. The ultimatum could be read as if you dare do this, I am going to punish you. Does that make sense.
God on more than one occassion has instructed the Israelites to kill, He has made himself perfectly clear that he hates unruly and disobedient children. In fact under his decree disobedient brats that do not respect their pops and moms should be brought to the gate where they may be stoned by the elders. When God issued this decree he gave someone an order to kill, He stepped back and watched. Cowardly action if you ask me.
It brings to mind the woman that paid someone to kill her husband, She took her kids for a milkshake and "forgot" to close the gate. The hired killers entered and bludgeoned him to death. She issued an order, paid some bucks and the husband's fate was sealed. Is she less of a monster because she didn't wield the weapon herself?
I recall a situation where a woman approached another to kill on her behalf, This was reported to the relevant authorities, A sting operation was mounted and she was charged on handover of the money. The crime of instructing someone to kill was deemed to be as bad as killing someone. When you want to do someone in and don't have the courage to attempt it yourself, asking someone else to act on your behalf makes you just as guilty.
Under the law of our country paying for murder to hire is to be complicit in the murder, Women that have had their boyfriends do the deed without payment have been found complicit and guilty in many courts of the world. So instructing some one to kill another is just as bad as doing the killing under our laws.
When God instructs the Israelites to kill all the Amelikites and does not actually enter the fray himself, (possibly afraid he may get hurt?) he is no less guilty of the genocide than those that wielded the weapons. God sound just like the Politicians that will happily send others to die for their folly. When Verwoerd instructed the SAP and the SADF to kill, but kept himself at a safe distance, did he not get judged for that. Hitler instructed his minions to kill the Jews, Atheists and other untermensch. I don't know if he personally ever wielded a weapon and took a life, but has he not been judged to be one evil box? Stalin also sent his minions to do the killing, Evil no?
What makes the God of Abraham any different?
