God wants your money!.

15 November 2012, 13:42

God wants your money!

Christians are very fond of quoting “For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.” Psalms 50: 10” But in fact, that is not really true because God is poor as the cows belong to farmers. Therefore he is desperate for money. There are far more verses in the Bible about giving God your money than giving God your soul!

Here a just a few:

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.” Malachi 3: 10

“Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury.” Mark 12: 41

“For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. “Throw out the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”  (Matthew 25: 29 -30)

“But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land?  And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; And great fear came over the whole church, and over all who heard of these things.”  Acts 5: 1 – 16

“The material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold.” (The New Jerusalem; Revelation 21: 18)

Televangelists, healing evangelists and mega Church Pastors love these verses. They have a God given authority to fleece the faithful. However just like any good sales pitch they harp on the “positives” and only when that fails to open your wallet, they inform you of the “negatives”. You will receive a hundred fold returns on your investment by prospering with your physical health, financial wealth and love relationships. When you graduate to heaven some golden daybreak you will be given a special crown, robes of glory and a spectacular mansion filled with gold, silver, jasper, jade and many precious gemstones.

However if you rob God you might make it to heaven, because salvation is a “free gift” but you will get there the hard way. Poverty, sickness, accidents and divorce will follow you all the days of your life and a squatter camp will be your inheritance in heaven for eternity. Better then hell I suppose.

Thus, Christian evangelism works just like any other sales pitch used to generate income by convincing the customer their life would be so much better if he or she accepted the “truth claims” made by the product peddler. If you want God to function on your behalf pay up. For without money, which is a prime reason for missionary and evangelical endeavours, the concept of God is nothing more than a non-functioning idea.

Sure, God needs your soul, but your soul better come with money! God is a respecter of persons. Is it little wonder then that the richest organisations in the world are religious and some of the wealthiest freeloading people are religious leaders? Money is the real God. A fool and his money are easily departed. Many fools flock to Church to give to a God who does not exist outside a wishful thinking imagination and a discredited scared text.
