Media, especially news websites love to milk the conflict between the religious and atheist, morally good and those not.
Freedom of speech is used as an excuse to allow evil haters (Yes - you are) to attack peoples beliefs and standards. The attackers use pure hatered and verbal abuse towards others, but it is accepted because it keeps the sites active for advertising. They cowardly hide behind their (their parents) keyboards and attack anything just for attention - positive or negative.
"Freedom of speech" still restricts gutter language and abusive comments, but does not see any form of attack on what used to be respected, such as peoples personal or religious beliefs.
"Don't read it" comments are like saying, 'ignore our attacks; mind your own business while I abuse someone, as it has nothing to do with you.'
That is why we have a lawless, moral decayed society where any form of abuse has become accepted. Lawless, ungodly people have become abusive to the degree that that will attack anyone who speaks out against their lifestyle by fighting to have laws changed, and create names against them.
Media has decensitised people against what a few years ago was unacceptable. Violence, sexual imorality, bad language, addictions, etc. Remove decent and moral practices from government, schools, etc. so that people can say what they want, commit 'legal' fraud, theft and in the case of one who is supposed to set an example, not rape, abuse power, commit fraud, 'legal' theft of tax money, and commit poligamy.
In todays society, anyone trying to do or be good to others, is broken down by a few vocal haters of anything good.
Climb into a vehicle in South Africa, and people turn into a FU society. People blame the taxi drivers, but look who speeds at every opportunity, overtakes illegally, drives through stop streets, red robots, etc. Yes - probably you. When confronted, they threaten violence, use crude language or signals, and have a total disregard for the safety of anyone else. Me - me and FU society.
Why is our society spiraling into evil darkness? Most people in power and law enforcement are corrupt, but they have rights as well. Codes of silence are used so that anyone speaking out or exposing their wrongdoings are the bad and unacceptable.
Good vs Evil - I am far from perfect, as are any people, but I live good to the best of my ability.
