Today our nation have woken up to the news of the passing of a freedom fighter, political activist, father of a nation and most important of all a true South African.
Nelson Mandela has shown through his actions and humbleness what we as a nation can achieve despite our past, despite our racial and cultural boundaries. Madiba was a true fighter for freedom, justice and equality.
From the dusty roads of Qunu, rose a leader who has made it his life's work to fight for a free and fair society for us all. Madiba saw no racial boundaries, he only saw a nation where black and white, indian and coloured lives together side by side in a free and fair society, where one is not judged by the colour of his skin or religion or culture, but by the essence of the person.
Madiba has vowed in open court during his trial that he is willing to die for his vision and that he will not stop fighting for his vision until it has become a reality and on April 27 1994, Madiba's vision became a reality, the struggle against apartheid was indeed a victorious struggle.
Madiba, we thank you for what you have done, not only for us but for our children and the world. May your soul Rest In Peace, for we have lost the Father of our Nation.
