Hashim Amla is simply phenomenal. A true master-class in living poetry in motion. All his hard work he did in perfecting his technique is really doing South African cricket proud big time.
That 253 not out he scored against India in 2010 is where he put his stamp of authority down on the cricketing world. It did his whole persona and endurance at the crease the world of good.
Here are what two English commentators have said about Amla:
Geoffrey Boycott in the Daily Telegraph wrote..."I thought Hashim Amla played marvellously well.He reminds me of Mohammad Yousuf of Pakistan.[And] I don't mean just in appearance, but the way he bats.Cool, calm, collected and unruffed."
Mark Nicholas said on BBC Sport:"The jealous few said he was a "quota" player - one of the beneficiaries of "affirmative action" - but whether this was the case or not is irrelevant. Educated, thoughtful, humble, generous, amusing, Amla has the respect of the whole dressing room."
Through the past 5 years in TEST Cricket,Hashim Amla has score the most runs by any South African batsmen which is 4159 runs, which is even more than greatest test allrounder of past 20 years namely,Jacgues Kallis',who scored 4131 runs. So keep it going young man,I'd say.And all the best to the South African team as a whole going forward. References: 1.Telegraph newspaper. 2.BBC Sport.
