Hecate and the warlock

27 July 2012, 13:41
HECATE AND THE WARLOCK
Dedicated to CHARLES DUMBWIN

Incipit a tail of lust
But to us poor mortals must
Be a tail of gaiety
But to the witch, one of Hades.

Medieval misty night
Cupid was set high in flight
Going home to Bacchus pad
One too many drams he had.

In and out the stars he weaves
‘tween clouds crooked path he cleaves
Over indulgence of the vine
Naughty knave knows no shorter line.

In a vagrant moon ray bright
Lay the warlock in full sight
Dead to the world with cannabis breath
Sleeping deeply, still as death
The naughty knave so indisposed
Spied the warlock so reposed
Tipsy aim and then let fire“Twang” it sounded like a lyre

Straight and true the arrow flew
Un inflicted by some brew
Landing with an awesome thump
In the weary warlock’s rump
Rampant madness he did wake
Trees uprooted mountains shake
The beasts all fled, the mountains quake
But get away for Zeus sake
Raging off into the night
He felt his loins fire light
And instead this malady to fight
Sought some wench to put it right
Hecate, her raiment free
Standing dark publicity
Wither’d dugs and knees abandy
Ugly only as witches can be.

The warlock saw this fearsome sight
With loins afire burning bright
Grabbed the witch and held her tight
And loved our Hecate throughout the night.

Unholy charms and uncouth  spell
Futile the warlock to repel.

Here strange object she did feel
Cupids love bolt with her heal.
