Homosexuality here to Save the World

This is my first submission, I’ve been around for a while, reading and commenting on mynews24 articles and I must admit, for the bigger part, I’ve been both intrigued and amused.

I was reading an article by the infamous CharlesDumbwin not too long ago, this particular piece was on homosexuality and its ties with Atheism . The article wasn’t particularly great but while I scrolled through the numerous comments, by people trying to convince themselves that homosexuality was unnatural,  I experienced an ‘ah-hah moment’.  

The comments basically pointed out that homosexual couples aren’t able to procreate in a natural manner (this is completely true) as they would have to find a sperm donor (in the case of a lesbian couple), a surrogate mother or opt to adopt. – These processes are usually rather expensive and lengthy and require extensive planning.

The above would then confirm that Homosexual couples are less likely to have children, there is also no chance of an ‘unplanned’ child, which in all honesty is a very real issue these days with heterosexual couples, Seeing that an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy would result in a child, as Abortion is still generally frowned upon.

As a 22 year old I’m seriously shocked to see how many ‘kids’, who matriculated with me in 2008, are already parents. I would like to think It’s highly unlikely that anyone under the age of 23 would have planned a pregnancy, I also find it very strange that having a couple of children is considered the norm (this also happens to be the norm in communities plagued by poverty), Specially in this day and age where over population worldwide (and particularly in SA) is no secret. Most also consider it fact that the human race is slowly but surely destroying the earth and using up its natural resources.

This brings me to my ‘ah-hah moment’ – With homosexuality becoming more and more acceptable, with guys and gals jumping out of the closet in all corners of the world, the rate at which children are being brought into the world is sure to drop, which in turn will slowly but surely rid this world of over population and poverty.

I know we have a wide range of religious views among the readers, so call it divine intervention, God’s plan or mere coincidence but I’d like to think Homosexuality is here to save the world or, at the very least, the human race from extinction.
