Hot Goods!

27 September 2012, 09:37

What is "HOT GOODS" ????

"Hot Goods" are all the items that one can buy from someone off the street or just randomly! These items or goods, are the very items that have been "STOLEN" from someone's home or vehicle or office for that matter.

We all talk about CRIME being so rife in our City of East London and surrounding suburbs, yet we are allowing thiswave of CRIME to continue as we are the one's too eagerly wanting to find a item or product at a fraction of the price found in stores? Yes ! I am generalizing of the fact that 'WE" are all to quick and eager to find a laptop, Plasma TV, HiFi and speakers and Car radios, in fact, any electronic devise, and that includes cellphones that are bought off the street at a great bargain price!

Many years back in JHB I myself had bought a video machine (brand new, still in the box) for R400 and at that time they were retailing for about R1000 or more. Bought gold chains and watches from complete strangers off the street. Knowing that these items must have been "STOLEN", buy yet still supported the so called seller of these "HOT GOODS" !!! That was when I was still in my early twenties and thought what a great bargain I had just scored. Admit it ! We practically all have encountered and have even bought that item for next to nothing, thinking what a great bargain?

Over the years I realized that by buying from these instant sales people with the most AMAZING OFFERS on their items that obviously had been stolen from someone else, that I am only encouraging and helping them to continue with their tactics of Criminal actions, and of course makes me just as guilty for buying "Stolen Goods".

I had learnt of the fact to NOT entertain these criminals in any way, no matter how tempting the situation may be. The only way for CRIME to slow down is to report these criminals to the Police and to NOT buy anything off the street, because if it is too good to be true, then it is certainly "HOT GOODS"!

Then!only then, when we all refrain from buying these goods, will the demand and encouragement for these goods either stolen from your or my house or vehicle becomes a thing of the past and the persons dealing in stolen goods find themselves with all the items they stole for no one to buy. Thus being caught RED HANDED and prosecuted!

STOP BUYING STOLEN GOODS NOW, Crime will certainly slow down by doing this.
