I posted this article a day or so ago, and I see I got many ‘raving reviews’ from the those I have now been informed as being ‘Cyberspace Trolls’. Funny, I outgrew the belief in fairy tales decades ago, but it seems many are making myth and legend now a reality. (Sigh!! But I now digress from my point.)
What was one of the more intelligent viewpoints put forward by one of these ‘mythological creatures’ was, “what solutions do you (I have) to the problems faced here in South Africa?” Well, considering that I am not the current Minister of Agriculture, I can only put forward some Layman’s ideas that I have, which many might be in grievous disagreement with, but I deem it worth bringing to public view, as I did note that few had any of their own out here. But, then again, gauging by their comments, I deduct that very few valid ideas are ever put forward by ‘Cyberspace Trolls’. (Even the three Billy goats outwitted the one in the fable I’m familiar with). What I am hoping is that this article may draw some of a more human breed, with human hearts and intellectual capacity too.
Which leads me to a very sad and dire problem in our nation right now, that being FARM MURDERS.
A few months ago I started to see the statistics of farm murders increase at an alarming rate. Meeting people involved in agriculture and the upliftment of communities in Africa brought me face to face with the horrors of being a farmer in South Africa. I can berate myself for my blissful ignorance, for if I had known of this sooner, I might have even sooner, been able to join the league of ‘good people’ who are doing everything in their power to bring this to the attention of the world, as well as that of South Africans. Sadly, it seems we are as ignorant of the extent and magnitude of these atrocities as our global community is.
What really confounds me is how many South Africans deny this is even happening or that it might be a problem for us. I presume most of these are of the opinion that our food grows on supermarket shelves or miraculously reproduces in the crates of the delivery vans. Perhaps they believe our economy is held in place by mining and that food holds no weight or worth in the economic world?
As strikes on farms have rocked our nation, it seems that our economy has been knocked after all and the plight of our farms and farmers may finally have become apparent to even the most ignorant in this regard.
It’s so simple really; without food WE ALL DIE!! Few of us have substantial sized properties to grow our own, as in bygone eras, and besides I’d like to see a high flyer from the inner city digging in the mud of his back garden, not that he has one, to supplement his diminished food stock in his fridge. Yes, there are a industrious few, with itchy green fingers who would toss up a spread from a few pot plants on their balcony, that have now given way to fresh produce. I admirably salute these brave few.
As for the rest of us without the greener finger tips, we need our farmers to supply those succulent delicacies that we in South Africa consume en masse, and yes that includes a good Boerewors roll. I honestly don’t thing too many cows would fit on most of our back porches!!
I believe then it is our responsibility as ‘good citizens’ to guard these most valuable assets in our nation, that being the farmers.
It has become the endeavor of quite a few 'concerned citizens' to highlight this across many social media sites, but alas, I see few who have come up with any viable solutions, other than that of ‘land reform’, a.k.a; ‘land redistribution’, which in my personal opinion, having lived in neighbouring Zimbabwe, is certainly not the solution, not in the African sense anyhow!!
A friend of mine came up with some interesting ideas about this; she speaks about the problems being faced as well as some solutions, and as she is open to it being shared I have posted it below here: (I have taken the liberty to edit it marginally so as to be relative to the topic discussed here.)

The majority of our farmers are Afrikaans and sadly it seems that Afrikaners have got a very bad reputation countrywide and world over, because of lies and propaganda. BUT our Volk are literally paying for it with our lives!
That is why we don’t get sympathy for any help from most quarters, not even from our own ignorant whites here in SA – These actually even work against us with their racist, uninformed comments all over the internet – which by the way is one of our best tools, if used well!!!
Our ‘military guys’ who try to plan coups etc, have good intentions but are fighting a losing battle, because we are too small in numbers, and the ANC intelligence is too sharp, they arrest these well intentioned but rogue ‘civilian soldiers’ while they are still planning their coups. All that does is give the world the wrong impression of the Afrikaner because the media and the ANC picks up that ball and runs with it. They use ALL our feeble attempts to save our Volk, against us!
The real battle is not physically on the fields; the real battle is educating the media locally and globally and educating potential ANC supporters in their own languages. Too often our campaigns and our stories of those who died are in Afrikaans, so the truth cannot reach the people it is meant to reach. Educating ourselves is one thing, but we need to educate EVERYBODY.
It will be a mammoth task, but we actually need to employ or recruit hundreds of trusted Afrikaners; volunteers, and trusted media reporters, whose sole purpose it is to just educate this whole country and the entire international society also, of our TRUE heritage, and of our TRUE nature, together with TRUE Apologetics, not the lies and biased opinions of teachers in the classrooms. Yes, there is an official report of a study that was done, and one of the things it found was that teachers were ignoring real history and adding their own opinions which are not necessarily the truth or biased. Most of our history that we are proud of is even left out of the classrooms.
If we can get Solidariteit and all other organisations who are working for our Volk, to start such a campaign: “Operation locally and globally re-educate EVERYONE about the Afrikaner and TRUE FACTS about the Afrikaner in order to dispel myths and misconceptions”, then that will be our saving grace, and in so doing, we will help to save many lives, even of our farmers who have been and still are suffering the most.
We were always a Godly people, so, last but not least, we need our people to repent of whatever we may need to repent of (those of us who must) and get onto our knees, and keep praying and keep the Faith and stay calm, without which we do not allow God’s blessings to flow onto us.
The Afrikaner rightfully gets mad, but that has been proven fruitless and works against us. If we do not want Malema, Zuma and Mandela and their ignorant followers to sing “Kill the Boer”, then we also must try our best to educate our own not to use hate speech and curse words when we get mad (difficult I know, even I have to bite my tongue), but our peaceful and reconciliatory stance is the only way we will gain sympathy and in so doing, save lives - literally.
Please help our Afrikaner Volk by forwarding this idea or this email to every trusted Afrikaner and every trusted organisation you know, requesting them to consider hiring or recruiting volunteers who will specifically re-educate locally and globally, to further the reputation of the Afrikaner, which has been spoilt by unsympathetic propaganda and indoctrination over many decades/ centuries.
We have wonderful books which also help to re-educate. These books need to be bought up and circulated en masse, not amongst our own Volk, in our own language, but marketed to those who are not Afrikaners – somehow marketed to the schools, and to the ANC supporters.
We need to find a way to re-educate those who are illiterate, who can’t read.....much less read a book in another language, than their own mother tongue. We need translators to re-write our books into black languages and recruit volunteers to circulate them among potential ANC supporters. We need to write books that are appealing to young non-Afrikaner minds also and circulate. Maybe even short stories or pamphlets, with appealing pictures can be distributed in the community?
Seeing the photos and reading about the mutilated, decapitated, disembowelled, raped, hanged, chopped up, burned alive, boiled alive, people of my own Volk, is what jolted me awake from my own coma, into doing something. I thought showing those photos to the world would illicit sympathy for my people, but I got blocked and shunned for it, that is why I now understand why AfriForum does not use shock tactics to wake people up. I have learnt. But sometimes the temptation still gets the better of me, and I show one or two of those pictures.
Our country does not know the horror. Many do not even know our farmers (and Afrikaners) are being killed, or that the killings have been going on for 22 years, or that so many farmers have fled South Africa, never mind the genocide has reached stage six, (or further by now) of stage 8 on the genocide scale . They look surprised when I tell them. To be tortured sometimes for many days on end, is incomprehensible. Most of our country doesn’t even know how long this has been happening, or even that it is happening in the first place.
We need to find reputable experts who are able to study the best possible ways of how to vote the ANC completely out of government, or any other regime that will work against the Afrikaner and the whites as a whole. (Note: It has become evident that the ANC coalition has done nothing to prevent or stop such atrocities committed against Farmers and/or the ‘white’ minority, despite the petitions and pleas of many Human Rights groups.)
Julius Malema shows extreme arrogance and often malice; many of our people’s deaths have been attributed to him, as well as Zuma and Mandela, singing “Kill the Boer”, as you know. Look at this defiance of his – it makes me mad – The youth (millions) see this and emulate it:
