I like Zion

13 February 2013, 09:00
Now before you all misinterpret what I mean; I like Zion man to man, not in any dubious way.  I honestly feel that Zion and I are kindred spirits.

They reason I say that is threefold:  Firstly, Zion reminds me of my great grandfather, who was still alive when I was about eight or so; a gentle soul with a big heart.  Secondly, Zion also reminds me of my mother - full of expressive language but usually off the mark.  And lastly, Zion is what all online journalists aspire to - truth, honestly, thorough research and a tenacity unmatched, even in the face of fierce criticism and adversity.

I like Zion.

I don't know the old squire from a bar of soap, but something tell's me there's more to this man than meets the eye.  Although some say there's less.

Whether he's penning a highly-intellectual piece on astronomy, or rehashing his veteran days in the military, or admitting to being the cause of another historic mining disaster, Zion is the shiz and I hope you all learn to respect the man for what he represents.

For me, Zion has become the heartbeat of News24.  The energetic, unwavering pulse that forges ahead despite the fierce critics who troll among us.

Zion.  You're alright, mate.  Just do what you do, the rest will follow.

Good on you!  Fair dinkum!
