Dear Deluded Political Leaders
I have been trying to figure out as to who is more delusional? The masses who vote for you (us) or you who then goes on to behave and treat the citizens who voted for you with blatant disdain, of the kind I can only attribute to Hitler, Stalin, Castro, George Bush (i), Mugabe to name but a mad few. Obviously many countries have laws preventing the presidency being humiliated and or insulted, yet these countries happen to be countries with leaders such as Mugabe, Putin etc or rather shall I say these are countries where democracy is determined by the rulers and not the people.
I love democracy and would wish not that any of you determine as to how far my democratic right to call the presidency a joking shambles of rambling stupidity should I feel to do that. And should I feel to praise the presidency as a collective leadership with grand thought, futuristic focus and quality decision making, I would wish to do that as well. My concern is you trying to enforce a culture where we cannot voice disproval in the most lay of diction when putting forth our arguments. You see, for the average South African with a matric, words such as stupid, dumb, horrible, shower head, are easier to use than your parliamentary words like disingenuous (I still don’t know when to use this in a sentence), prima-facie, sub-judice.. and all those other latin phrases that leave the simple man scrambling for his Oxford at a pace Usain Bolt would admire.
My point is, until you give us the correct level of education, the best we have is to say the presidency is stupid!! Finish and Klaar, if you want us to choose less insulting words and diction, provide the schools in Limpopo with text books and they may learn the ‘Queens” language so you may receive your insults in a less pervasive manner. Furthermore, I have always liked Blade Nzimande, yet somehow I get the feeling he is as much a communist at heart as Patrice Motsepe, Bill Gates, Cyril Ramaphosa etc. Blade you should know better, the ANC played a big part in the struggle to equality yet payed no more of a price than Robert Sobukwe, Steve Biko, George Bizo’s, Chris Hani, Joe Slovo, Hellen Joseph to name but a few. Many people paid with their lives as well for us to be here, and thus the attempted propaganda that the “all conquering ANC” is the sole reason we achieved freedom is disingenuous of you (finally got to use this word)
President Zuma was not forced to receive his generous salary, he isn’t being held hostage at parliament, and trust me; none of his state homes are detention centres to hold him. If at any point he wishes to leave, he may open the door and walk out indefinitely. Otherwise he needs take it like a man and walk it off.
