From time to time I try to be different; so I draw inspiration today from a situation that started via Facebook, and that ended much in the same place….
“If life were like Facebook we’d all have a ball:
Our pictures and thoughts all stuck on a Wall.
And people that bothered us and made us see red
We would Block from our lives and just go to bed!
A Poke in the face could just be ignored,
or stored and stored until we got bored.
Smiles and tears would all go away,
‘Cos someone will say it’s almost Friday!
No unions, no politics, ‘cos whatever you say;
Facebook just changes what they want anyway.
And whatever we did, no matter where,
We know our friends would photograph and share.
Our names would be visible for all to see
And to change at will! (Except: I can’t be me!)
If you need a partner, just invite and wait,
If you have any luck you might get a date!
But life is not Facebook; it’s not even Twitter!
So make an honest mistake and your life’s in the……”
