I’ll definitely vote for the ANC

16 January 2013, 12:26

As a whitey, I’ll definitely vote for the ANC in the next elections. It’s a very easy decision. The opportunities they create for us to prosper are amazing. If we think about what government needs to do for us with our TAX money, then I only see opportunity. That’s why I decided that 2013 will be the year of filling the gaps, to see the positives and opportunities in this country created by the ANC government. Let’s list what government should do with the TAX money we give them every year.

Policing and Security

This is the easy one. We all want to feel secure and safe, but the police force and metro police just aren’t up to it. So we start security companies to safeguard neighbourhoods. Old retired policemen become private investigators, security consultants and gun training officers. Arms shops make big money for helping you get your fire arm licensed, because the police won’t.

Infrastructure

This can be broken down into a lot of categories, roads, electricity, water, housing, etc., etc. The list just goes on and on. Let’s start with the biggest one most people complain about, electricity.

Renewable resources haven’t had this much attention, since ever. I’ve seen the sales of generators going growing, inverters, even the Indian and Chinese shop on the corner sells solar panels. What about putting electricity back on the grid? This should be the next step, I’d assume.

Roads are a huge problem. I saw some really bad roads full of potholes, so this really grows the SUV market, not to even think about the tire and shocks business. What about the sand, gravel, cement or paving and brick laying industries?

Housing has been a big talking point, for the past 15 years, maybe longer. Let’s find cheaper ways of building houses. I think the corrugated iron business is doing pretty well, if I look at the amount of shacks that are being constructed on a daily basis, squatter camps are really growing.

Water is starting to become a huge talking point, the last time I looked; we still needed this to live. Water purification and harvesting is definitely top of mind here. Those plastic JoJo tanks can be bought at city hardware shops, no need to go to the “platteland koöperasie” anymore. Retail shops must be making a killing on water purification filters.

And all of the above can keep me busy for a while, just at my house.

Education

Tutors, trainers and teachers the time is now. The highest priority of all social needs in this country. Can you make money from this? Definitely, most parents want to have the best education for their children. School sports aren’t what it used to be.  Enough said.

I only scratched the surface on this, I’m sure about it. Then you say the government doesn’t provide opportunities? I see lots!
