Of late, I have been reading so much pain, anger and despair on various social media sites,amongst them NEWS24 and its seres my heart and soul that we are truly a wounded nation.
I don't believe, notwithstanding the myriad of scathing and hurtful comments that no doubt will ensure after this,that the silent majority don't see truth and reconciliation as a way out and which will help in rebuilding the ethos and the spirit of ubuntu.
I believe that once we achieve this, and this is not going to be achieved overnight, we will be able to unite as one and not as "us" and "them" and together tackle and beat the scourge of crime and corruption and poverty beset by unemployment.Those that want us to remain divided do so because they know what a potent force we as a civil society informed by common purpose can become in serving notice on those who fail us that we will mount an African Spring.
There are those amongst us who are so hurt and blinded by that pain and prejudice that they will, I will wager, skewer my humble attempts to try that process of healing!
However I stand my efforts and I pray that you too will realise the potential and join me in such an endeavour.
