Atheism vs. Religion. It’s turning rather dire lately. Not many new “facts” or “theories” have been added since the first sorry sob started the – Mynews24-Atheism-vs-Religion warfare. You’ve all been arguing about the same old topics over and over again and to be honest, from my point of view (acting as a spectator in most of these articles) it seems that you all expect a different answer each time you tackle a question with a different angle.
The definition of insanity comes to mind.
You’re all familiar with it right – Well. I’m the only one capable of providing a diagnosis on you chaps since each and every one of you would obviously deny that you’re insane.
After reading countless articles (purely due to boredom, as I can’t imagine that anyone would change their normal daily routine just to read all this gibberish garbage) it’s quite obvious that both parties are slightly delusional and consist of irregular expectations. The fact of the matter is, you’re all wrong – Some more so than others. While everyone is free to discuss whatever topic they fancy, discussions regarding this topic is fairly limited and just plain pointless.
I quote “The "debate" about God is hopeless, as unsatisfying as trying to dress a cat. When religious people and/or atheists talk about God and/or pit science against God they are expressing their psychological need for certainty, not indulging in anything that could be described as an intellectual debate.”
And another: “Maybe the best thing a believer in God can do is to declare that a lot of the Bible is hate-filled blasphemy -- against any actual God.
Maybe the best thing an atheist can do is admit that the question of God has nothing to do with religion, let alone with the actions of religious people.”
Why the need to engage as a certain party/group of people sharing the same title?
The possibility of God existing basically undermines Atheism as a whole. Most atheists replaces the word “God” with “I don’t know”. Aliens are practically factual in their world – which seems awfully ironic.
Having said that; Objectivity is seriously lacking by both parties. I do feel there are certain Atheists and Christians on this site not completely sure what the tag – Atheist – Christian actually entails to. It basically means you’re wrong. No matter what doctrine of Atheism or Christianity you’re blabbering on about – You are wrong.
It’s an insult to science that these two vastly different concepts are pitted against one another to satisfy the uncertainty of certain groups of people. That’s not the intention of science, nor was evolution suppose to prove God does not exist.
It’s okay to have your own opinion and vigorously supporting it, but alas; at times one needs to be told the stupidity they portray when left in his/her own uncertainty.
That’s basically it guys.
