It is impossible to be a Christian

21 January 2014, 07:12
Most of you would think this is a really weird thing to say. Of course there are Christians, a estimated 2.2 biilion of them on last count according to Wikipedia etc. "Christians" are proud to call themselves Christians.

So what is a Christian? The following definition is from a Christian website.
"A Christian is someone who has decided to entrust his or her life to Jesus Christ. A Christian trusts Christ for forgiveness of sin, a right standing before God, and guidance in life."
http://www.riverpower.org/answers/real_christian.htm

And how do you become a Christian? From the same website..
"To become a Christian, simply tell God, in prayer, that you choose to place your faith in Jesus Christ to receive forgiveness for your sins and a new life. Tell God that you want Him to be in charge of your life from this point forward."
http://www.riverpower.org/answers/how_to_become_christian.htm

However in Mark 7:7 Jesus warns about this True Worship
"In vain do they worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
An alternative translation in the Jerusalem Bible renders it this way:
"The worship they offer Me is worthless, the doctrines they teach are only human regulations."
http://www.revelations.org.za/Vain.htm

What does it mean..it simply means that even though the above website says it is easy to become a Christian, it is actually impossible. What I mean by impossible is that there is no living person who can pass the faith test given by Jesus himself in the Bible. No living person? But how come there are 2.2 billion Christians? Simple answer..read Mark 7:7 again.

What does Jesus say about this faith test?

"You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."
Matthew 17:20

What Jesus says boils down to this..if you say to a mountain to move from here to there and it does not obey you..then you simply do not have enough faith. That is it...you do not have enough faith. You may think you have enough faith and that you believe..but as long as you do not pass Jesus's test, you do not have enough faith. Therefore saying you have enough faith does not mean that you have enough faith. There is only one test given to mankind by Jesus himself. If you fail that test...you fail..that means you are NOT a Christian.

Who said it would be easy? Jesus said "Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God." Compared to Jesus and his disciples most people in the world are rich today. If you have a house or a car or money..then you are rich.

There are also many rewards offered for this first person that can demonstrate that he has faith. This person does not even need to demonstrate that he has enough faith. If he can demonstrate any faith at all e.g. by passing Jesus's test then he is in line for a R 1 000 000 reward.

James Randi, a.k.a. The Amazing Randi, magician James Randi author of numerous works skeptical of paranormal, supernatural, and pseudoscientific claims has for about ten years offered "a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power."
http://www.skepdic.com/randi.html

How does Randi debunk these claims? He uses science. He observes the claimant performing the “skill,” hypothesizes with a natural explanation of the phenomenon, designs a controlled experiment to establish whether his hypothesis is supported or not, and analyzes the data. To date, no one has even passed the preliminary tests. - See more at: http://www.elearnportal.com/courses/education/methods-of-teaching-science/methods-of-teaching-science-million-dollar-reward#sthash.12AOAGbn.dpuf
