Its Your Choice. Really?

02 April 2014, 20:08
After reading an article by Solarflair, I felt I have to try to contribute on the whole "gay" thing'

The point I want to stress ... and this is to the people who say being gay is a choice. It is not a choice. Simple, unarguable ... you'll only understand this if you are a heterosexual. A complete heterosexual, not one that is a bit flexible and can swing both ways with a bit of enticement.

I am a complete heterosexual. I'm not bragging (if its anything to brag about ...), its just a cold fact. When I went through puberty I suddenly found myself attracted to girls. I couldn't help it, it was not my choice. I simply was ... and to this day am still, attracted sexually to females, and not men.

As a small boy I did not like girls, like most small boys, they were irritating with their dolls and girly ways. When puberty arrived, bingo, 180 degree swing. Funnily enough, the boys I knew at school that liked to play with the girls before puberty ... very few ... ended up liking boys after puberty.

So my issue is now with the rabid anti gay gang, the gay bashers, who claim being gay is a choice. The only possible way you can believe this, is that you yourself had to choose at puberty. In other words, now think about this, you were attracted to both girls and boys!

There is no other way you could claim that it is a choice ... honestly ... unless YOU had to choose, YOU had confused sexuality.

Thats my point ... I think your hatred of homosexuals is based on guilt, more than any sort of moral high ground. As a "pure" hetero, my theory is that at puberty your sexuality is aroused. Some of us have no confusion, as we are naturally attracted to the opposite sex (most of us actually, how else would our species survive).

Some are attracted to both sex's and have to choose (many of those are obviously the ones who claim this in their anti homo drives, driven by the intense guilt of who they are), and there are those ( a minority) that have confused sexuality and are attracted to their own sex. These people normally hide these feelings due to our backward intolerant society, with harsh consequences for themselves and those around them. (Read Solarflairs article ... its a shame on our society) These people are no threat to us, I may add.

Having said all this, I also disagree that homosexuality is "normal". If it was, humans would not reproduce. It is merely an oddity, and these people just add a different dimension to human character. It should never be sold as normal to children, but children should also be taught not to abuse these "different" people, there is no reason to dislike or feel threatened by them.

Rather worry about the paedophiles and child abusing adults, that kind of sexuality is a real threat to human life. I thank you for your time ...
