It's all my fault, again

04 December 2013, 14:47

I have news for all those who believe that the e-tolls fiasco, amongst other things we have witnessed lately, is the fault of the white middle-class. Well, blow me down!

Anybody with half a brain and a glimmer of intelligence - like the average ANC supporter, and JZ himself - would know, without having to be convinced, that everything wrong in SA is the fault of the white middle-class.

We fought the wars, we paid the taxes, we supported the governments and we did the work so that millions of lazy, indigent assholes could today have it all, and blame us for what they don’t yet have. Yeah, right.

The ANC, the liberals, the SACP, Cosatu - all have one common theme that binds them together like life rafts leaving the SAS South Africa as she sinks under the weight of demands. That somebody, somewhere must be blamed for everything and the easiest targets are the white middle-class.

All 2-million of us, in a land populated by over 50-million people? Oh sure, everybody else is innocent.

Does anybody out there think for a moment that there would even be a South Africa, if it wasn’t for the white middle-class?

The white middle-class built this country, from the ground up, and if we made mistakes whilst doing it – mistakes like letting the Nats run the country for a while, and now the ANC for a while, and supporting the wrong side in 2 great wars, and supporting Rhodesia and abolishing Apartheid – then so be it. And, if you want, you can blame us for it all, if that’ll make you feel better.

However, bottom line here is that we actually don’t care anymore what you feel you need to blame us for.

We built the damn roads - many years ago with our money - and Sasol, and Eskom, and the SABC and the gold, coal and diamond mines and just about every damn thing you see around you today.

Now we’ve built Nkandla, and the toll gantries, and we’ll probably build more, a lot more, by going out to work, earning a salary, paying our taxes, marrying and bringing up the next generation and eventually being buried in the South African earth.

That’s what the white middle-class do and if you want to get in on the act, please feel free to do so as we’re getting tired now!
