This weekend a few friends and I went for a quick drink at one of our local spots in Cape Town, Jade. It's a lovely bar and I've only had good times there. Until now. The bar was booked out for a private function, but as it was coming to an end, the bouncer decided we can enter the venue. At the very empty bar I ordered three drinks.
Very easy order. Coke, Hunters and Spin. The barman "accidentally" ads on an extra Spin, not by pushing the button twice but an extra one at the end of the order... I show him his error and a "oh sorry, my bad" is the extend of his explanation and with a quick delete he corrects my order. Now I've been a barman before... and a 3 drink order is hard to stuff up. My errrrrk is that he was able to delete a drink without management's supervision.
This makes me question the "extra drink" and the money could be easily pocketed by himself. At the end of our one drink evening, we got our second errrrrrk. On our exit the bouncer had the nerve to ask us, "something for them". Now i'm tired of this "you owe me something" crap! He should get paid to do his job.
Not to make extra money from clientele for seemingly doing them "favours"! My after taste of Jade is, where is management and why do I feel like an abused customer after a short evening?!
