Julius from Rome was an astute strategist who surrounded himself with wise men who could enlighten him on subjects beyond his grasp,Whether it was maths, astrology, warfare ,cabbage farming or any other trivial subject matter, it never really mattered, as long as he could apply his charisma in the public theatres and have the crowds hanging onto every word he said.
His great strength was his ability to play the crowds according to there current moods. He could wind them up like a catupilt and sling his message straight into there hearts without dreary prepared speeches written by others. He talked from the heart and words came easy to him.
His name sake 2000 years later are equally destined for great things, whether you like it or not.All of you who reckon that Ju Ju' flame has been snuffed are in for a surprise, maybe momentarilly deprived from oxygen, but definately not snuffed .
Julius oozes charisma and self confidence and the stages he loves to appear on is set for him .The current oppurtunity begging is the mining turmoil and he will definately not let this one slip. The support for Julius in the mining sector is overwhelming and is clearly displayed by the dwindling numbers of NUM supporters, mostly evacuating to join the opposing union .
The Marikana ghost will not dissapear quickly ,the pathtetic handling of this situation by our politicians made sure of that. And the election of Cyril Ramaphosa as vice president to our already tainted government may just send out the wrong signals to the impoverished masses.Cyril was a frontrunner in the battle for freedom for his people but the call of capatilism converted him into someone a little bit enstranged from the township folk for whom nothing has really changed, except for few light bulbs.
So our man Julius is abiding his time and the fact that he has already been prevented from addressing a few crowds underlines the grave concern he creates amongst his opponents. It will not come as a surprise if Julius is locked up in the near future on charges not nearly as serious as those that can be levelled amongst his persecutors,
But most leaders in Africa had to go through the mill before they could taste success. It is unfortunate that Julius has already displayed that tendency towards self enrichment that makes him not much different from other politicians on the African continent.Given a bit of advice and grooming our Jules can become the icon his people are yearning for, and he does not have to pass his matric maths to do that.
