Let’s predict the future

20 February 2014, 14:22

No one saw WW1 or WW2 coming. We THINK we saw it coming, but we didn’t. It is a trick the mind plays to make us seem like we knew all along that Hilter would invade Poland.

Truth is, nobody has ever predicted any of the life changing events that have shaped us.

9/11 – nope

Kennedy assignation- nope

Stock market crashes – nope

Fall of communism – nope

Fall of apartheid – nope

Zion disappearing off News24- definitely not

All this bodes well for South Africa. The reason is that the opposite happens to what we predict, and considering that everyone is prediction doom and gloom here, perhaps we will be okay after all.

So, let’s hear some predictions for 2014, post elections – I will refer to them going forward to see who the real Clem Sunters are.

I predict I will be standing around a braai this time next year, moaning about the cost of living and crime. But I will have consolation in knowing that the Super15 Cup is safely locked up at Newlands.
