Dear Editor,
The ANC Youth League march is to highlight the plight of the unemployed. Right? OK, then why are the ANCYL targeting businesses and capitalism as the source of their woes?
I ask because we read daily about the misappropriation of billions of rands of public funds, corruption on an unprecedented scale and even a R400m upgrade to the president’s houses.
The same "youth" marching today pissed R100m away on a youth conference that amounted to nothing, our president flies around in a private jet and Juju is a multimillionaire from the same capitalist system he marches against today.
Call me what you want, but the above spending would go a long way to job creation and had the ANCYL marched against that, they would have had my total support.
But again, the majority refuse to see the wood for the trees or look at themselves in a mirror.
While I am humbled by the fact that the marchers actually reached Pretoria, I will have no sympathy for their plight while they continue to allow their own leaders to pillage the same coffers that could be better served assisting them.
Peter
