Dear Editor,
With the economic crisis and the current situation in South Africa it can be difficult to remain focussed and enthusiastic about the future. Lately there has been an outcry over the sudden 31% hike in electricity, and this is understandable.
For the average South African, life may seem dull and hopeless; people are not being paid enough, but are required to fork up large amounts of money for tariff increases. Securing a homeloan for some is a challenging task, and for some it seems impossible.
With all the negativity going around it's easy to be discouraged, but what I've realised is that negativity adds nothing positive to our lives. So many people have compared the future of South Africa to the current day Zimbabwe, it's as if people are waiting for that to happen - not me.
We have +-70 years to live on Earth, instead of being so negative about everything, let's hold our heads up and try to enjoy this life. After all what else can we do but to love our friends, family and to bring joy into the lives of others.
Despite the circumstances and challenges we may face, it is still possible to enjoy life and be hopeful of a better tomorrow. Just hang in there.
