Dear Editor,
What an exciting time for South Africans next year.
The SWC urged our leaders to spend money on road improvements and energised business to look for opportunities to profit.
Unfortunately the monster FIFA compelled us to spend money on stadiums we did not need urgently.
The rugby and cricket world cup organisers used our existing stadiums and fans had to adapt. These stadiums are architectural monuments to wastefulness.
The politicians told the poor that they do not have enough funds to move them out of the shacks for the next 20 years.
They did not have money to build Eskom power stations for the last 15 years!
There "might" be funds to give every person a proper water tap and toilet in 2050? Maybe, but you poor will have to wait because kicking a round ball comes first.
There is no money to accommodate the foreign refugees, so they are dropped amongst the poor.
Love your fellow African we are told, even though their numbers curbs our job opportunities.
Most of the poor will never set foot in these stadiums. They know now the fat cat politicians have different priorities. A poor man becomes an angry man. Lest we forget.
