The 'killing' gravy train

03 September 2008, 13:11

Dear Editor,

I cannot convey to you how disturbing I find the comments made by high ranking Cosatu and ANCYL members.

They seemed to be obsessed with killing for Jacob Zuma; completely oblivious to upholding law and order and holding South Africa to ransom if we dare to oust the corrupt aspects within the ANC government.

Surely these war cries should be paid more and harsher attention? Is it not against some law to threaten a police agency?

Cosatu's KwaZulu-Natal secretary general, Zet Luzipho is the latest to jump on this "killing" gravy train.

"If the Scorpions bite the wrong people we will kill them. Like a dog when it starts biting relatives at your home. You get rid of it. We will do the same to the Scorpions."

So, irrespective of the fact that these "wrong people" may be very guilty, Cosatu and the ANCYL are prepared to kill to uphold their primitive and very misguided loyalties.

It is time that the rule of law is reintroduced to this country, if not... I can guarantee you we'll end up like Zimbabwe!

Vernon Wolf,
Cape Town
